MOUNTAIN LION ENCOUNTER

I was heading home on a back country road in Arroyo Grande, CA and this beauty came out not too far in front of me. When it saw me, it froze and then ran to the brush. I stopped to look for it and there it was just watching me with an unmistakable stare. I was close to my car and was well aware of the danger.

It was getting very late in the day and I was losing the light fast so conditions were not the best. But I was so thrilled to actually see a Mountain Lion looking back at me.

It just sat down and allowed me to take a few shots. Maybe it was sizing me up. I was actually shaking from excitement and well … maybe from a little nerves too.
If I had been passed that area just a few moments too soon or later, I would have missed seeing it at all. It felt like a gift.
It is something I will never forget.
